MCMINN ASSIST GUIDELINES
Applications are reviewed weekly on a first come first serve basis.
PLEASE NOTE: APPROVALS ARE SUBJECT TO AVAILABLE FUNDING
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be late/in arrears on their rent and/or utilities for which they are applying.
- Must have experienced an unexpected occurrence such as loss of income, medical emergency, or disaster that caused applicants to be behind/in arrears.
- Applicants must be residents of McMinn County or Meigs County in Tennessee.
- The residences for which the assistance is to be applied must be located within McMinn or Meigs counties.
- Applicants must be the head of the household.
- In cases of utility assistance, utilities must be in the applicant’s name. A copy of your most recent utility bill must be provided with the application.
- In case of utility assistance, we do not pay reconnection fees or deposits.
COPIES OF THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTATION ARE REQUIRED FOR APPLICATIONS TO BE CONSIDERED
(Additional Documents May Also Be Required After Initial Application Review):
- Photo Identification for all in the household 18 and older
- Acceptable Documents: Driver’s License, Passport, or State ID - DO NOT send Social Security Card
- Proof of income for the last three months
- Acceptable Documents: Pay stubs, Disability/social security award letter, etc.
- Proof of Residency
- Acceptable Documents:
- Driver’s license or Identification Card — Must reflect your current residential address
- Utility (water, electrical, trash) bill with current residential address and name
- Copy of your current lease - signed/dated
- Acceptable Documents:
- Proof of hardship/emergency that caused applicants to be behind/in arrears. Failure to plan or budget is not an emergency.
- Utility Assistance: Copy of your current utility bill.
Assistance through this program will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis upon approval. Only completed applications including all required documentation will be processed to determine what, if any, assistance can be provided. All applications are reviewed on Wednesday in the order that they are received.
Failure to provide all required documentation with the application will result in the application being denied.
